  • Encourage them to apply meaning to the resulting shape
  • Ask probing questions to help patient identify their mood and its effects on their thoughts and emotions

Tools and Materials You Will Need For This Art Therapy Exercise

  • Paints or markers
  • Color pencils
  • Crayons
  • Plain drawing paper

Instructions

Have the patient draw two shapes: one shape representing something positive and the other representing something negative. Ask them to draw a bridge that connects the shapes together in some way.
