Art Therapy Exercise #13

The goal of this art therapy exercise is to explore with the patient the things that are preventing the patient from advancing in his or her life.

  • Discuss the object the patient placed in front of the stop sign (or light) and what it represents in their life
  • Talk about goals and the issues that is preventing them from successfully achieving those goals
  • Discuss issues that may be affecting their ability to overcome mental or emotional difficulties

Instructions

In this exercise, have the patient draw a stop sign or stoplight and place figures or shapes before it.
