Art Therapy Exercise #14

The goal is to increase self-awareness of a challenge the patient faces and their feelings regarding it.

  • Discuss the size and design of the question mark and its significance to the patient. For example, a large question mark may illustrate the patient’s doubts as to whether he or she can overcome the problem.
  • If in a group, encourage the patient to share the picture with other members and solicit feedback about the symbols.
  • Talk about the challenge the patient chose to highlight
  • Discuss possible solutions for overcoming the issues

Have the patient draw a symbol related to a problem and then a question mark above it.
